The artist moved to Berlin in 2015. At the time, Germany was facing the European refugee crisis, and she learned German with Syrians. Then, she realized that she was a privileged foreigner who could easily get into university and obtain a visa.

As a privileged foreigner, she traveled from Germany to Hungary to visit the fence on the Serbian border that prevents refugees from entering the EU.
