This work presents two interviews with a former East Berliner and a former West Berliner, reflecting on their impressions of the “other” Berlin and its people during the time of the Berlin Wall. The piece explores how the collective identity of Berliners, once experienced as a shared “we,” was fractured by the division of the city.
